The bridge is the first of its kind constructed in accordance with the Class Ⅰ waterway standard on the Xiangjiang River. The 202-meter-tall main tower is undertaken by the CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. Designed with the idea of "Diamond on the Xiangjiang River" and with a main span of 300 meters, the bridge boasts the largest span and the tallest main tower of a single tower cable-stayed bridge on the Xiangjiang River.
