The Hunan Statistics Bureau announced on October 25 that, Hunan has effectively guaranteed people's livelihood in the first three quarters of the year. The provincial fiscal expenditures in the fields of social security and employment, housing security, and urban, rural and community affairs increased by 12.6%, 24.5%, and 13.6% respectively.
Hunan's overall employment has remained stable. In the first three quarters, 625,800 new jobs were created; 343,300 unemployed people found new jobs; and, 90,100 people with difficulty finding jobs became employed. The three figures respectively reached 89.4%, 114.4%, and 90.1% of the annual goals.
The consumer prices fell slightly after rise. The CPI increased by 0.4%, which was 0.3 percentage points lower than that in the first half year.
Residents' income grew rapidly. The residents' per capita disposable income rose 5.4% year on year, while that of the urban and rural residents up 4.1% and 6.7% respectively.
Various important affairs related to people's well-being have been handled in an orderly manner. Twenty key projects of 10 categories related to people's well-being are ongoing smoothly, with fruitful results achieved. Among them, ten projects have been fulfilled ahead of the schedule, including direct settlement of medical expenses incurred outside the patient's location, handling medical insurance affairs on behalf of the patients at the community-level service centers, and information network construction in rural areas.
