On October 23, a shipment of 921 Hengyang-made suitcases completed customs clearance at the Hengyang Customs Authority and was sent to South Korea. This marked Hengyang's first declaration for cross-border B2B export in the field of e-commerce.

"The method of cross-border e-commerce B2B export enables companies to contact directly with overseas consumers and small businesses, allowing products to reach overseas consumers more quickly and saving logistics costs for businesses," said a person in charge of customs affairs at a Hengyang-based luggage company.

In 2022, Hengyang was approved to establish a national comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce. According to Peng Zhenghua, director of the Hengyang Customs Comprehensive Bonded Zone Supervision Section, through the mode of the cross-border e-commerce B2B direct export (customs supervision code 9710), companies can make a customs declaration for their products in Hengyang, and the goods can undergo customs clearance outside the jurisdiction of Hengyang City before being exported to foreign countries. This process significantly improves the overall operational efficiency of cross-border e-commerce retail exports.
