Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, visited the China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) in Beijing on the morning of October 23, 2023. He met with Ma Yongsheng, chairman of the Board and secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of Sinopec Group, and Zhao Dong, general manager and deputy secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of Sinopec Group.

On October 23, Secretary Shen visited the Sinopec Group in Beijing.

Secretary Shen thanked Sinopec Group for its long-term support to Hunan's development. He noted that Hunan has maintained sound cooperation with the group in recent years. Hunan's petrochemical industry has flourished under the support and drive of Sinopec. The province has been comprehensively implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on Hunan's work. It has made all-out efforts to turn the beautiful blueprint of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy that President Xi drew for Hunan into reality.

The provincial Party committee and the provincial government have clarified to accelerate the building of "4×4" modernized industrial system, with modern petrochemicals as one of the pillar industries. We hoped to further strengthen collaboration with Sinopec; advance the construction of Yueyang ethylene project; roll out plans for the petrochemical new materials industry; improve the investment mechanism; extend the petrochemical industrial chain; improve the added value of products; and, jointly promote the high-quality development of the petrochemical industry in Hunan. We will continue to optimize the business environment and provide quality services for Sinopec's expansion in Hunan, he added.

Chairman Ma and General Manager Zhao thanked Hunan Province and Yueyang City for their support and assistance to Sinopec's advancement over the years, saying that the group is thoroughly implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, carrying out the strategy of protecting the Yangtze River, promoting the restructuring and upgrading of traditional industries, and realizing green, low-carbon, and recycling development. Sinopec will give full play to its advantages and actively put forward the construction of Yueyang ethylene project. It will further enhance the industrial chain while deepening pragmatic cooperation with Hunan in new energy development and rural revitalization, to achieve mutual benefits and promote high-quality development.
