A freight train carrying 667.6 tons of goods including seamless steel pipe and daily necessities worth 56.6 million yuan has left Hengyang for Moscow, the capital of Russia. The train is scheduled to make stops in cities such as Novosibirsk, Minsk, and Shushary, with Novosibirsk being a new stop on this route. This signifies that the "circle of friends" of Hengyang's China-Europe freight train service is expanding.

Hengyang launched its China-Europe freight train service in October 2020. This year marks the third anniversary since its launch. The city has successfully handled 118 China-Europe freight trains, carrying 12,000 TEUs. The value of the goods transported has amounted to 4.11 billion yuan. The city of Hengyang now ranks second in Hunan province in terms of the number of handled freight trains. The main products, including steel pipe, clothes, electronic appliances, and daily necessities, are transported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries. Currently, Hengyang has eight operational routes for its freight train service, which play a crucial role in connecting both Hengyang and its surrounding areas with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

"This year, the efficiency of Hengyang's China-Europe freight train service has significantly improved, with 42 trains already operating, marking a 27.2% increase compared to the same period last year," said Peng Zhenghua, director of the Supervision Division of the Hengyang Customs Comprehensive Bonded Zone. The Hengyang Customs Authority has continued to promote the construction of international logistics channels such as the China (Hengyang)-Europe Railway Express and the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa Rail-Sea Express, implementing measures such as advance declaration to enable products to obtain customs clearance upon inspection. Following Changsha, Hengyang has launched its first China-Europe freight train under the mode of "fast customs clearance for railway transport." In addition, the Hengyang Customs Authority has joined hands with the Hengyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone to further deepen the "bonded zone-port area coordination" reforms, which encourages surrounding regions to use Hengyang as a gathering and export point for bonded goods and ensures the stable operation of China-Europe freight trains.
