Hunan cultural and tourism industry climbed rapidly between January and September this year. The province received 516 million tourist trips in the first nine months this year, generating nearly 773 billion CNY of tourism revenue. The summer vacation tourism market was especially booming, with the provincial tourist trips and tourism revenue increasing by 63.64% and 32.04% respectively. The Zhuzhou "Factory BA" basketball game was trending on the internet. Hunan cultural and tourism industry also surged during the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holiday. It received over 30 million tourist trips, an increase of 82.87% over the same period in 2022.

With the strong revival of cultural and tourism market, Hunan government issued "20 measures to boost culture and tourism"; implemented such campaigns as attracting major tourist sources outside Hunan and promoting Hunan cultural and tourism via new media; rolled out an action plan to satisfy tourists in Hunan; and made tailored tours for visitors from the Greater Bay Area. Relying on Changsha and other five national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration pilot cities and ten national nighttime cultural and tourism consumption clusters, Hunan has carried out characteristic cultural and tourism consumption activities; launched Hunan cultural and tourism consumption season; and issued 100 million CNY of consumption vouchers at the provincial, municipal, and county levels.

The tourism development conferences held across Hunan Province also brought in significant benefits, with 498 major cultural and tourism projects worth 264.47 billion CNY pushed forward provincewide. The 2023 Hunan Cultural and Tourism Industry Expo and the 2023 Hunan Cultural and Tourism Investment and Financing Conference helped comprehensively empower the provincial cultural and tourism industry to enhance both quality and efficiency.
