The 2023 National Private Enterprises Scientific and Technological Innovation and Standards Innovation Conference is about to kick off in Changsha. On the evening of October 18, the People's Government of Hunan Province held a symposium to welcome the guest representatives. They joined in this grand cooperation event to highlight the building of an innovation hub.
Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, and Xu Lejiang, vice minister of the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), attended.
On October 18, Governor Mao had a discussion with Vice Minister Xu and other guests attending the 2023 National Private Enterprises Scientific and Technological Innovation and Standards Innovation Conference.
Provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Sui Zhongcheng, Zhou Haibing, and Zhang Jian; ACFIC Vice Chairman An Lijia; ACFIC Vice Chairman and CPPCC Shanghai Municipal Committee Vice Chairman Shou Ziqi; CPPCC Guizhou Provincial Committee Vice Chairman Li Hanyu; Hunan Provincial People's Government Secretary General Qu Hai; and, representatives of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and renowned private entrepreneurs were present.

Governor Mao noted that Hunan is now focusing on the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" strategic blueprint; taking the scientific and technological innovation and standards innovation as important contents; and, accelerating the building of a sci-tech innovation hub with core competitiveness. He invited national ministries and commissions, brother provinces, and private entrepreneurs to join hands with Hunan. Efforts should be made to:
- Strengthen technology, talent, and platform cooperation to produce an array of scientific and technological innovation achievements;
- Speed up the establishment of advanced, applicable, and first-class technological enterprise standards system; and,
- Increase investment and project layout in Hunan to achieve synchronized progress.
We would continue to optimize the business environment and provide the best service and conditions for enterprises to settle down and thrive in Hunan, he added.
Vice Minister Xu and other guests agreed that Hunan has prominent geographical advantages, a profound industrial foundation, continuously improving business environment, and strong momentum of high-quality development. These are favorable conditions for private enterprises to embrace, invest in, and tap into Hunan. ACFIC will give full play to its role as a bridge connecting Hunan and private enterprises, and actively build platforms to guide more private enterprises to invest in Hunan. Private enterprises looked forward to strengthening exchanges, communication, and pragmatic cooperation with Hunan; combining their own advantages with Hunan's resource endowment; and, realizing mutual benefits and win-win results when sharing the new opportunities brought by high-quality development of the central part of China.
