The Information Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government held a press conference in Changsha on the morning of October 12, 2023. It announced that a conference on national private enterprises sci-tech innovation and standards innovation in 2023 and famous private enterprises assisting the building of a new modern Hunan will be held in Changsha between October 18 and 20.

Themed "Innovation of Hunan Province and Strength of Private Enterprises", the conference is co-organized by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It highlights the scientific and technological innovation and standards innovation of private enterprises, Hunan's efforts to achieve the beautiful blueprint of "Three Hubs and Four News Missions" Strategy and the new modern Hunan Province construction, and the building of Changsha into a global research and development center.

An array of results will be released at the conference, including a list of private enterprises' R&D investment and invention patents and a report on the private enterprises' innovation, a list of private enterprises with scientific and technological innovation and private enterprises' scientific and technological innovation parks, and a list of "frontrunners" in enterprise standards and "leaders" in business association standards. Leaders will award plaques and certificates to the representatives of those enterprises. The 2023 Private Economy Standards Innovation Week will be launched.

The conference has issued targeted invitations for investment attraction and promotion, and the participants are mainly heads of leading enterprises and business associations in the field of private economy across China. Among them, many are leaders of China's top 500 private enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises that are recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as niche-sector leaders with high market share and strong innovation capacity, as well as chairpersons of national business associations. The conference will bring together the highest number of private enterprises focused on science and innovation in Hunan.

So far, there are 59 provincial major investment projects scheduled to be signed at the meeting, with a total investment of 42.76 billion yuan. It shows three major characteristics of "focusing on investment attraction of private enterprises, highlighting the advanced manufacturing, and guiding the return of Hunan-born entrepreneurs".

The conference will also make investment promotion of Hunan Province and Changsha City. Participants will visit scientific and technological innovation platforms and enterprises, and travel to relevant cities and prefecture for inspection.
