Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met with Li Zexiang, professor of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and chairman of the board of Googol Technology Co., Ltd. (Googoltech), and his entourage in Changsha on the morning of October 10, 2023.

On October 10, Secretary Shen had a discussion with HKUST Professor and Googoltech Chairman Li.

Secretary Shen thanked Mr. Li for his long-term support to the economic and social development of his hometown, Hunan Province. He noted that Professor Li enjoys a high academic reputation in the field of robotics and automation, and is also a successful investor in scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship. He has accumulated a wealth of experience in talents training, business incubation, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Secretary Shen expected him to deepen cooperation with Hunan in such aspects as cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial colleges and universities in Hunan, establishing a platform for industrial and technological research, and expanding the application of new energy scenarios, so as to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

Professor Li made a speech on the theme of "Changsha High-end Equipment Industry Innovation System Construction Plan". He analyzed the situation of new manufacturing ecosystem construction at home and abroad; dissected the typical cases; shared his innovation and entrepreneurship experience; and, put forward suggestions on the establishment of an innovation ecosystem, the development of advanced manufacturing industry, and building Changsha into a global research and development center.

He expressed his commitment to strengthening collaboration with Hunan in terms of talent cultivation, project introduction, and platform construction, to contribute wisdom and strength to the development of his hometown.
