Vice Governor Zhang said that Hunan has borne in mind President Xi Jinping's instructions and spared no efforts to build a hub of technological innovation with core competitiveness. Based on its agricultural endowment, Hunan has focused on the needs of the country, the capacity of the province, and the trends of the future. It has consistently pushed its agricultural technology innovation to a leading level in the country.

The vice governor expressed Hunan's willingness to join hands with all countries to further advance international agricultural trade, consolidate cooperation platforms, facilitate mutual recognition of comparable standards, and continuously enhance collaboration among industrial and supply chains. Hunan is ready to work with partner countries to construct an agricultural security system and enhance the capacity of grain and agricultural product security, to expand agricultural cooperation, and to promote the coordinated development of eco-agriculture, protected agriculture, and smart agriculture, so as to jointly write a new chapter in modern agricultural development.

The forum consisted of five major events, including an opening ceremony and keynote lectures. More than 200 diplomatic envoys, representatives of international organizations, and experts and scholars from 15 countries participated. The forum aimed to, under the South-South and China-Africa cooperation frameworks, promote exchanges and cooperation between and among international organizations, government departments, education and research institutions, and enterprises in the fields of agricultural science and technology.

Hunan Agriculture University, the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), and the University of Segou of the Republic of Mali, signed several memorandums of industry-education-research cooperation.
