As part of the Hunan European Investment and Trade Negotiation Week, a delegation led by Qiu Jixing, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area, embarked on a trip to Germany, Sweden and Denmark from September 18 to 27, in a bid to further strengthen economic and trade cooperation with European countries and accelerate the construction of a hub of opening up.
The delegation is comprised of representatives from the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area Management Committee, and Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone.
During their visit, more than 20 targeted and effective business activities were organized. The delegation attended a Hunan-Germany investment and trade cooperation fair held by the Hunan provincial government in Germany, and signed projects such as "Sino-European International Cooperation Demonstration Zone and Sino-European Enterprise Joint Innovation Center".
At an Uppsala-Changsha innovation cooperation conference, the delegation prompted the Swedish Work Station of Changsha National Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Overseas Professionals to sign letters of intent for cooperation on three Swedish sci-tech projects, including Naiqure new-generation air sensors and Swedish treatment techniques and drugs for cerebral glial tumor.
The delegation also contacted with the Uppsala city government, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other government agencies and business associations.
In addition, the delegation visited well-known enterprises such as Hawe, CATARC Europe, and Kleiberit Group, as well as industry-leading units such as Kalle-Albert Industrial Park and Cologne Bonn Airport.
Qiu Jixing said that Germany, Sweden, and Denmark are developed countries in Europe. Their experiences in opening-up, urban planning, technological innovation, and other aspects are worth learning from. Changsha should actively promote practical cooperation with these countries in manufacturing industry, biomedicine, and other fields, accelerate the construction of a hub of reform and opening up in inland areas, and go all out to build a global R&D center. Changsha would actively build platforms for cooperation and exchange, do its best to guarantee the support of services, and create a good environment for European enterprises to establish and grow their presence in Changsha.
