Popular historical and cultural documentary China has finally released its third season on China's Hunan TV and Mango TV.

As the finale, the third season of the documentary consists in a total of 12 episodes of 50 minutes each. The new season looks back at early mythology and ancestral history through a contemporary perspective and takes the gestation and development of rituals as the main narrative line, starting from primitive society, passing through farming civilization and ending with the establishment of a country and of a traditional culture that has influenced China for thousands of years.

In order to give a full picture of the world existing in stories such as The Classic of Mountains and Seas and other Chinese mythological tales, the production team has taken more than a thousand original Chinese-style paintings and creatively combined them with digital technology , said its director Li Dongshen.

Xu Hong, researcher from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) said, the new season is like a History of China, which includes not only classic research and findings, but also the latest finds and research.
