Zhou Haibing, vice governor of Hunan Province and mayor of Changsha City, led a delegation to visit Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom from September 18 to 27. He expressed the hope that international friends would turn their eyes to Changsha and Hunan at large and join hands to seek win-win cooperation.
During the visit, Mayor Zhou Haibing respectively met with Dino Tamagni, governor of the Canton of Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and Colin Davie, councillor at Lincolnshire County Council, UK. He hoped that the sides would promote the exchange of visits, deepen cooperation, and achieve win-win results.
An investment and trade fair of Xiangjiang New Area was held in Milan, Italy on September 19. Mayor Zhou Haibing attended the fair and witnessed the signing of projects. He said that Hunan plans to create a demonstration zone for China-Europe (Hunan) cooperation with Xiangjiang New Area as the core. The demonstration zone will focus on advanced manufacturing and producer services, attract and retain European companies with an international business environment, and write a new chapter in its development.
Mayor Zhou Haibing successively visited Leonardo S.p.A, Pininfarina Group headquarters, Italdesign-Giugiaro Group, Messer Group, ArcelorMittal Group, Anglo American London headquarters, China UK Business Association, and London Chinatown Chinese Association. He noted that Changsha is making all-out efforts to build itself into a global research and development center, and will continue to support enterprises in investing and developing in Hunan.
Mayor Zhou Haibing went on an inspection tour to Zoomlion CIFA Company and CRRC Times Electric Denix Company. He stressed that the two enterprises have created a model of international cooperation, and Hunan will continue help local enterprises "go global" and support the innovative development of enterprises. It is hoped that the two enterprises will lead more world-renowned enterprises to cooperate with Hunan and facilitate the province's industrial transformation and upgrading.
