Hunan's first precooked Hunan cuisine industrial park project was launched at the Provincial-level Agricultural Science and Technology Park in Liuyang on September 26. Heads of the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce and other relevant departments attended. Zhu Dongtie, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Liuyang County-level Committee, was present.
The industrial park covers an area of 2,040 mu, or 136 hectares. Several functional zones will be built, including a food production and processing area, a cold chain logistics and storage area, a precooked food product R&D center (including an academician workstation and a research institute), a food inspection and testing center, a central kitchen and a food distribution center, a center displaying precooked food raw materials and products, a mass innovation space for precooked food and an incubation center for small and medium-sized enterprises, and a precooked food e-commerce center.
As a large traditional agricultural county-level city, Liuyang has clear advantages in developing the precooked food industry. In 2022, the output value of Liuyang's precooked food industry amounted to 16.18 billion yuan, accounting for half of the province's total. Upon completion, the park's total precooked food industrial output is expected to reach 30 billion yuan, generating a tax revenue of over 500 million yuan and attracting more than 100 enterprises. By then, the park will become a hub of precooked Hunan cuisine with a strong influence in Hunan and even the central regions of China.
