On September 25, the Competitiveness Think Tank, the Beijing Zhongxin Urban Planning and Design Institute and other institutes jointly released the 2023 report on the comprehensive competitiveness of towns in China. The 2023 lists of top 100 towns in China, top 100 towns in central China and top 100 towns in western China were announced. Huanghua Town of Changsha County ranked 49th among China's top 100 towns and first among central China's top 100 towns, making it the first town in Hunan to enter the national top 50. This is the first time that a Hunan town has topped the central China rankings.

Compared with its rankings of "80th in China and 2nd in Central China" on the 2022 report, Huanghua Town has experienced a leap from "the No. 1 town in Hunan" to "the No. 1 town in central China", with its national ranking rising by 31 places and its central China ranking moving up to the first place this year.

Situated in the east of Changsha, Huanghua Town is the location of the international airport-Huanghua International Airport, and also a comprehensive transport hub in Hunan Province. Covering an area of 143 square kilometers, the town has jurisdiction over 6 communities and 13 administrative villages and is home to a permanent population of 119,000. It is the main battlefield of Changsha County's economic construction, a gathering place of 100-billion-yuan projects, and an important contributor to the high-quality development.
