On the morning of September 24, veteran rower Zhang Liang from Hunan Province claimed the gold medal in the men's double sculls alongside Liu Zhiyu, making it the first gold of Hunan Province. The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government sent a congratulatory letter to the Chinese sports delegation and Zhang Liang.
In the letter, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government extended sincere greetings to all athletes, coaches, and working staffers of the 19th Asian Games, and expressed gratitude to the General Administration of Sports of China and the Chinese rowing team for their care and support to Hunan's sports development. They also wished that the Chinese sports delegation would achieve good results at the 19th Asian Games.
Zhang Boheng from Hunan Province, together with his team members, won the gold medal in the Men's Qualification and Team Final of artistic gymnastics on the evening of September 24, making it the second gold of Hunan Province.
