On the evening of September 21, the first China (Zhangjiajie) Cultural Tourism Integrated Development Conference and the first Zhangjiajie Tourism Development Conference kicked off at Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie City. He Baoxiang, vice-chairperson of the 14th CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairperson of the RCCK Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and made a speech.

He Baoxiang said that promoting integrated development of culture and tourism is an important decision made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, Hunan Province has focused on integrated development and high-quality development while promoting the culture and tourism industry. Hunan has vigorously implemented the strategy of all-for-one tourism, accelerated the building of a world-class tourist destination, and entered a new stage in advancing the culture and tourism sector. The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government have decided to hold the provincial tourism development conference every year starting from 2022, following the principle of "holding one conference, revitalizing one city". The move is of great significance to foster new forms of business, transform economic growth model, and provide industrial support for Hunan's high-quality development.

After the opening ceremony, a series of large public welfare performances themed "Action for Green China—Visit Zhangjiajie" were held.

The conference was hosted by the RCCK Central Committee and the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, and organized by the RCCK Hunan Provincial Committee, Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Hunan Provincial Forestry Bureau, the CPC Zhangjiajie Municipal Committee, Zhangjiajie Municipal People's Government, and the CPPCC Zhangjiajie Municipal Committee.

The three-day conference features six themed activities.

On September 21, the China (Zhangjiajie) Photography Exhibition with the theme of "Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains in Charming Hunan" opened.
