A press conference on the 2023 Hunan (Autumn) Rural Cultural Tourism Festival and Hunan Autumn Village Gala Demonstration Showcase was held in Changsha on the morning of September 20. It announced that the festival and the demonstration showcase will take place in Anhua County, Yiyang City from September 24 to 26.

With the theme of "Welcome to Hunan and Enjoy a Village Gala in Anhua", the festival and the demonstration showcase will feature a series of "1+3+N" activities, namely, an opening ceremony and a village gala, three major events, and multiple supporting activities.

The opening ceremony and the village gala will be held on the evening of September 24, with Qingyun Cave Scenic Area in Maluxi Village of Anhua County as the main venue. Meanwhile, opening ceremonies and featured activities themed "worshiping tea ancestor", "mapping out revitalization", and "celebrating bumper harvest" will be arranged respectively in sub-venues of Da'an Village of Qujiang Town, Shatianxi Village of Longtang Town, and Muxikou Village of Jiangnan Town. The aim is to promote rural culture and rural tourism.

The three major events will include:
--a culinary experience of delicious food on the afternoon of September 24;
--seminar on empowering rural revitalization with cultural tourism of Hunan Province on the morning of September 25; and,
--an observation on the stories of ancient tea horse road and Anhua dark tea on the afternoon of September 25.

The supporting activities will inlcude:
--a moon-admiring party;
--tea-related trips;
--Anhua consumption season via livestreaming; and,
--cultural tourism-themed short video contest.
These aim to bring a cultural tourism feast to visitors to Anhua.

The festival is hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Yiyang Municipal People's Government.
