Li Dianxun, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met with Kim Hak-Hong, vice governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, on September 15, 2023.
Li welcomed Kim Hak-Hong and his entourage. He remarked that, Hunan Province as a powerhouse of manufacturing, agriculture, and cultural tourism, plays a crucial role in China's regional economic development. Hunan and Gyeongsangbuk-do share a good foundation and broad space of cooperation. He expected the two sides to work in a creative manner, further deepening pragmatic collaboration in construction machinery, rail transit, autonomic computing, new energy, and agricultural technology innovation. He also invited the enterprises and people of South Korea to invest, start up business, and travel in Hunan.
Kim mentioned that, this year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the friendship province-do relations between Hunan and Gyeongsangbuk-do. He hoped the two sides to take the anniversary as a new starting point, and continue to expand bilateral exchanges and cooperation in such fields as modern agriculture, cultural tourism, and new energy.
Li and Kim also witnessed together the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Hunan Academy of Agricultral Sciences and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural Technology Institute.
