The photo, taken on September 12, shows a villager using a drone to spray pesticides on the late-season rice crops in Zhuangyuan Village, Mishui Town, Hengdong County. Currently, it is a critical period for field management of late-season rice. The local authority has promoted the application of drones in integrated prevention and control of rice diseases and pests. The plant-protection drones have replaced traditional farming practices. This has significantly improved the efficiency of disease and pest control, reduced pesticide usage and pest control costs, and helped farmers address labor shortages. (Photo/Xiao Yahui)
