The China International Digital Economy Expo 2023 was held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province on September 6. At the expo, a list of China's top 100 digital cities in 2023 and the 2023 China Digital Cities Competitiveness Research Report were released. Changsha made the list, moving up four places from 13th in 2022 to 17th this year.

In recent years, Changsha has accelerated the development of digital economy, deepened the integration of digital economy and real economy, advanced the upgrading of traditional industries through digital transformation, and made known the Internet Yuelu Summit, the International Summit on BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) Applications, the 1024 Programmer's Day and other event brands. The digital economy has become a pillar for fostering a new development pattern.

In the first quarter of this year, Hunan's software and information technology service industry (mobile internet industry) continued to maintain steady and rapid growth. Among them, the Changsha Information Industrial Park brought together 14,592 new-generation information technology enterprises, and achieved a revenue of 20 billion yuan in the first quarter.

Since 2019, CCID Consulting, a research institution under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has conducted in-depth research on the competitiveness of digital cities and released research results for five straight years. The 2023 China Digital Cities Competitiveness Research Report analyzes the comprehensive strength of digital cities and their digitalization level in various fields from six aspects: information infrastructure, digital economy, digital governance, services related to people's livelihood, digital innovation, and digital low-carbon development. It also provides reference for the digital transformation construction of cities across the country.
