"On the bus, you can connect your mobile phone to WiFi and get it charged for free. So convenient!" On September 6, many bus passengers were surprised to find that free WiFi and charging services were available on some buses in Changsha City. There are obvious "WiFi coverage" signs on the top panel of the bus's middle section and near its front and rear doors. Charging port signs are pasted next to some seats on the bus.

The Changsha Bus Group has equipped a total of 114 buses on No. 1, No. 8, No. 26, No. 322, No. 6 and No. 145 routes with free WiFi and charging service systems. The move is part of a pilot program to actively respond to the call of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People's Government to optimize citizens' riding experience, further improve the bus service, and increase passengers' level of satisfaction.

When taking the bus, passengers can use the WiFi just by opening the WiFi setting interface on their mobile phones or computers and searching a WiFi network named "Changsha Bus [长沙公交]" provided by bus WiFi devices.

These pilot buses are installed with wireless charging devices and USB and TYPEC combined ports for different mobile phone device users.

According to the person in charge of the Changsha Bus Group, the group will further adjust and improve buses' free WiFi and in-car charging services according to the passenger flow and public feedback after the trial operation, aiming to continuously optimize bus service and convenience and vigorously carry out the "Service Improvement Spring Breeze Action". Such services are expected to be fully launched on other lines in the future.
