Hunan Agricultural Product Exports Surge in First Seven Months

Hunan's export of agricultural products reached 11.26 billion CNY in the first seven months of the year, increasing by 16.1% over the same period last year. Its export of agricultural products logged a rapid growth rate of 50.2% in July, the Changsha Customs revealed on September 1, 2023.


More than 90% of the exported agricultural products were from Yongzhou, Changsha, Changde, and Yueyang. Yongzhou exported 6.98 billion CNY of agricultural products in the January-July period, an increase of 46% year on year and accounting for 62% of the provincial total.


Exported vegetables and edible fungi, dried and fresh fruits, and nuts, registered rapid growth. Hunan exported 6.52 billion CNY of vegetables and edible fungi in the first seven months of this year, up 39.2% year on year and accounting for 57.9% of provincial total. Its export of dried fruits and nuts grew by 69.1% year on year.


Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia, and Japan were Hunan's top three export destinations of agricultural products. Between January and July, Hunan exported 7.01 billion CNY of agricultural products to Hong Kong, an increase of 41.3% and accounting for 62.2% of the provincial total.
