The Hunan Provincial Port Shipping and Water Resources Group Co., Ltd. was inaugurated in Changsha on the morning of August 23, 2023. Formed on the basis of the former Hunan Provincial Xiangshui Group Co., Ltd., it has integrated all the ports and shipping resources provincewide.

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, unveiled the plaque and inspected the company.

On August 23, Governor Mao unveiled the plaque for the newly-established Hunan Provincial Port Shipping and Water Resources Group Co., Ltd. in Changsha.

The Hunan Provincial Port Shipping and Water Resources Group Co., Ltd. is a large-scale functional group. The State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the People's Government of Hunan Province performs the responsibilities as an investor; the Hunan Provincial Department of Transportation provides operational guidance; and, the Hunan Provincial Water Conservancy Department conducts industrial management. With a registered capital of 20 billion yuan, the group is mainly responsible for investment, construction, and operation of Hunan's ports, shipping, and water conservancy infrastructure.
