A media briefing of the 2023 Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo was held in Changsha on August 21. It announced that the expo, part of the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference, will take place between September 15 and 17 at Chenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. 

The theme of the expo is "new technologies, new cultural tourism, and new consumption". The expo will cover an exhibition area of 60,000 sqm. Nearly 1,000 enterprises are expected to participate. Six exhibition zones will set up, respectively displaying distinctive domestic and international tourism destinations; showcasing new outdoor cultural tourism equipment related to water, low-altitude, and outdoor activities; having an immersive and digital cultural tourism experience for new projects and new business fomats; promoting "Belt and Road" special cultural tourism enterprises; exhibiting Chenzhou and international boutique mineral crystals; and, having an immersive experience for cultural tourism of Hunan, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The following activities will be held during the expo:
-- an opening ceremony;
-- an achievements release conference;
-- internet celebrities from Hunan, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao visiting Hunan;
-- a featured cultural tourism products promotion and purchasing meeting;
-- an "empowering cultural tourism through technology" new equipment and business formats promotion and purchasing meeting; and,
-- 2023 Hunan Cultural Tourism Products Competition and featured cultural tourism products (mineral crystals) promotion and purchasing meeting.

An online exhibition will be available on WeChat mini-program of the expo, as well as Tongcheng and Ctrip platforms.

Since its inception in 2010, the Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo has gone through a 13-year journey, becoming a large and prominent professional cultural tourism exhibition in central China with impressive market transactions, innovative business formats, and a strong leading role.

The expo focuses on empowering cultural tourism innovation through technology, showcasing new products, promoting new consumption, exploring new trends, fostering a platform for professional exchange and collaboration in Hunan's cultural tourism industry, and enhancing the development quality of Hunan's cultural tourism sector and the level of international cooperation. The event will further drive high-quality development of Hunan's cultural tourism industry, and accelerate the building of Hunan into a world-class tourism destination.

The expo is jointly organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, and the People's Government of Chenzhou City.
