Hunan Achieves 379.8 Billion CNY of Foreign Trade in Jan-July

Hunan Province recorded a total import and export volume of 379.8 billion CNY from January to July, an increase of 2.3% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, imports grew by 22.7% year on year. The Customs of Changsha said on August 14, 2023.


The ASEAN countries, the United States, the European Union, and Hong Kong SAR were Hunan's main trading partners over the past seven months. Hunan's trade volume with Hong Kong surged by 19.4% year on year. Its foreign trade with the countries related to China's Belt and Road Initiative maintained a steady growth, with the imports and exports totaling 145.88 billion CNY in the first seven months, up 9.7% year on year. Hunan's import and export volume to African countries grew by 18% year on year to 34.69 billion CNY.


Hunan saw rapid growth in export of electromechanical and agricultural products. The province exported 121.66 billion CNY of electromechanical products in Jan-July, up 15.6%. Among them, the value of exported construction machinery was 15.57 billion CNY, an increase of 97%. Hunan's vegetables and edible mushrooms were in high demand and selling well overseas, with the exports rising 39.2% year on year in the first seven months. Imports of mechanical and electrical, high-tech, and agricultural products grew sharply.
