An increasing consumer demand for fruits has been seen during this scorching summer. According to the data of the Changsha Huanghua Airport customs authority, in the first seven months this year, the Changsha airport has handled 906.84 tons of imported fruits, with a year-on-year growth of 73.05%. These fruits were mainly imported from Southeast Asia, including rambutans, durians, mangos, mangosteens, coconuts, and pineapples, pomelos, and sweetsops which are popular in the Chinese markets.

The Changsha Customs accepts enterprise reservations around the clock to ensure efficient customs clearance of imported fruits and other fresh products. Currently, most of the imported fruits are handled through declaration in advance and "green channels" for fresh products. This enables importers to rapidly receive their goods within 20 minutes after arrival, and supply them directly to the market.
