On the afternoon of July 21, Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Wan Min, chairman of the Board and Party secretary of the China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (COSCO Shipping Group).
On July 21, Secretary Shen and Governor Mao held a discussion with COSCO Shipping Group Chairman Wan and his party in Changsha.
Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests and thanked COSCO Shipping Group for its contribution to the economic and social development of Hunan Province. He noted that Hunan has been thoroughly implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on Hunan Province, and striving to achieve the goals outlined in the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" blueprint. The COSCO Shipping Group's business covers shipping, terminals, logistics, shipbuilding, and other related fields, which is highly compatible with Hunan's development direction and needs. He expected the Group to actively participate in the integration of Hunan's port and shipping resources; increase the resources investment and the layout of routes in Hunan; join in the construction of opening-up channels; promote the green transformation of shipping industry; and, provide enterprises with logistic solutions and help reduce their logistic costs.
Chairman Wan thanked Hunan for its long-term support to COSCO Shipping Group. He said the Group will give full play to its role as a SOE in global shipping; take the initiative to align with Hunan's industrial development and logistics corridor construction; and, further cooperate with Hunan in shipping port logistics, green low-carbon digitalization, and new energy industry, so as to better achieve win-win development.
