The 2023 Hunan (Nanshan) Liuyueliu Folk Song Festival, also the Hunan (Chengbu) High Mountain Agriculture Expo, raised its curtain at Chengbu Miao Autonomous County on the evening of July 23. Chengbu County, renowned as the "home of folk songs in China", was honored with the title of "National Demonstration County for Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress" at the opening ceremony.
Brilliant singing and dancing performances were staged in three chapters, presenting the origin of folk songs in ancient times and their spatial-temporal evolutions in history and culture.
The Liuyueliu Folk Song Festival has become one of the four major folk festival brands in Hunan Province, and been approved as one of the fourth batch of demonstration projects in the national public cultural service system. This year marks its 25th session, themed "agricultural products from different parts of Hunan Province converge in Miao township, and folk songs from various regions of China sang on Nanshan Mountain".
The festival has five major activities:

It has heated up tourism with the festive celebrations and activities with local characteristics, thoroughly explored ecological culture resources, and developed distinctive projects featuring "tourism + ecology" and "tourism + culture". These efforts have lent strong impetus to boost rural revitalization and high-quality economic development.
Data shows that, Chengbu has received more than five million tourist visits in 2022, generating a comprehensive tourism revenue of over 4.6 billion CNY.
