This year's summer travel rush lasts for 62 days from July 1 to August 31. It was learnt from the Guangzhou Railway Group on July 5 that from July 1 to 5, there was a surge in railway passenger traffic. A total of 9.05 million passenger trips were handled during the first five days, with average daily passenger trips exceeding 1.8 million, representing a 50% increase compared to the previous year.

This weekend, most primary and secondary schools in Guangdong, Hunan, and Hainan will start their summer vacation, marking the beginning of the first peak time for summer travel rush. It is expected that the daily passenger trips will exceed 2 million.

To cope with the first peak time on this weekend and meet the travel needs of passengers heading to popular destinations, the Guangzhou Railway Group will operate 234 temporary trains from July 5 to 9, providing routes from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to cities such as Changsha, Yueyang, Zhangjiajie, Loudi, Huaihua, and Shantou. Among these, there will be 178 high-speed trains and 56 ordinary trains.
