Recently, the early-season fragrant ginger was harvested in Jiangyong County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, and has now been brought to the market. The first batch of fragrant ginger from Jiangyong has been widely favored by consumers for its tender, juicy and delicate taste, and delightful aroma.
In recent years, Jiangyong County has been promoting standardized cultivation of fragrant ginger through the "cooperatives + farmers" mode. The move helps boost yields and improve product quality. The county cultivates 20,000 mu (1,333 ha.) of fragrant ginger each year, with a total yield of over 50,000 tons. Moreover, many "new farmers" who have returned to their hometowns for entrepreneurship are using e-commerce platforms to help local residents find markets for their agricultural products. This has enabled fragrant ginger to reach customers nationwide, and ginger farmers have benefited from the increased production and high price of their produce.
