At the event, Wang Yuan, a skilled public speaker from Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, and also a teacher at the Bocai Yunshidai Primary School, carried out a publicity event themed "Carrying forward fine traditional culture and building the modern civilization of the Chinese nation", aiming to thoroughly study and publicize the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speech delivered at a symposium on cultural inheritance and development. The cultural customs of Duanwu Festival and the inheritance and development of Huxiang culture were also introduced. Art performances in various forms such as sitcom, recitation, and rap were staged, allowing people to have an overall and deep understanding of fine traditional Chinese culture. In addition, zongzi, a sticky rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves, was given to representatives of the city's moral model and good people on site. Festive greetings were also sent to them.

A special interaction zone was set up where visitors can freely participate in experience activities of Duanwu Festival folk customs and intangible cultural heritage items such as making circular fans, tasting zongzi, and playing a traditional grass game. The experience activities last until June 22.

The event was organized by the Changsha Municipal Civilization Office, Changsha Evening News, Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Publicity Work Department (Civilization Office), and Changsha Urban Development Group; co-organized by the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Yanghu Sub-district Office and Changsha Yanghu Construction & Investment Co. Ltd.; and, undertaken by the Changsha Evening News Star Media and Hunan Wufutang Intangible Cultural Heritage Center.
