The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently announced a list of 25 newly-approved national backbone cold-chain logistics bases. The national cold-chain logistics bases in Hengyang and Yongzhou made the list. Together with the previously approved ones in Huaihua and Changsha, there are currently four national backbone cold-chain logistics bases in Hunan Province.
China sets up the national backbone cold-chain logistics bases as large cold-chain logistics infrastructure base on overall layout. Starting in 2020, NDRC has identified three batches of 66 national backbone cold-chain logistics bases for priority construction. The 25 newly-approved bases have good foundations in cold-chain logistics volume, infrastructure level, and supporting facilities of upstream and downstream industries. Beyond that, they play demonstration and leading roles in driving the transformation and upgrading of upstream and downstream industries, boosting green and innovation development of cold-chain logistics, and consolidating the foundation for establishing China's new development pattern.
