Super-long Dragon Boat Launched in Yiyang

A super-long dragon boat, 99.9 meters in length and 1.88 meters in width, was launched at Lanxi Town, Heshan District, Yiyang on June 12, attracting numerous residents. To celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, people of Bei'anxin Village in the town created a distinctive dual-oar dragon boat, allowing some rowers to sit while others stand and row. It has 106 thwarts and can accommodate 420 rowers. Such dual-oar dragon boat has been included in the fourth batch of Hunan's provincial-level intangible cultural heritage in 2016.
