The 2023 Zhangjiajie Promotion Conference for International Travel Agencies on China Inbound Tourism was held on June 10. During the event, a total of 81 international travel agents from 12 countries and regions, mainly Russia travel agents, reached a comprehensive tourism cooperation framework agreement with Zhangjiajie. The event also marked the arrival of the first large-scale Russian tour group to Zhangjiajie.

Between June 7 and 9, Zhangjiajie invited World Bank officials, representatives from the Russian Independent Travel Agents Association, as well as travel agent teams from 12 countries and regions including Kazakhstan, Canada, the United States, and Malaysia, to visit and explore scenic spots in Zhangjiajie such as Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, Baofeng Lake, Charming Xiangxi Theater, Tianmen Mountain, and the 72 Unusual Houses.

During the promotion conference, Zhangjiajie Municipal People's Government officials said that currently the number of Russian tourists visiting Zhangjiajie is relatively low. However, they emphasized the promising prospects of the tourism market and expressed their hopes to leverage this opportunity to vigorously promote cooperation between Zhangjiajie and the World Bank, Russian investors and travel agents, as well as other countries and regions. The move aims to share and witness the business opportunities and wealth brought about by the development of Zhangjiajie as a well-known tourist destination, both domestically and internationally.

"I will definitely promote the beautiful scenery of Zhangjiajie to the people in my hometown and encourage them to Zhangjiajie," said Svetlana, an international travel agent representative and president of the Russian Independent Travel Agents Association. She expressed her admiration for the breathtaking landscapes of Zhangjiajie and mentioned that this was her 38th visit to China. During the trip, Zhangjiajie's stunning natural beauty left a profound impression on her.

"We will seize the opportunity and attract more Russian tourists to Zhangjiajie," said Jin Xin, executive vice president and secretary of the Board of Directors of Zhangjiajie Tourism Group. He emphasized the company's commitment to closely collaborating with more travel agents to further enhance the popularity of Zhangjiajie as an international destination and create more enthusiasm for visiting the region.
