The Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the other 16 departments recently jointly issued several measures on further empowering rural revitalization through culture and tourism, aiming to consolidate the province's achievements in cultural tourism and boost rural revitalization.
The document outlined 15 specific measures, including:
-- improving cultural tourism public service facilities in rural areas;
-- enhancing public cultural services;
-- cultivating a civilized rural atmosphere;
-- promoting the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage in rural areas;
-- enriching rural tourism products;
-- creating rural tourism brands;
-- advancing the deep integration of technology and cultural tourism in rural areas;
-- strengthening rural cultural tourism business entities;
-- intensifying the intelligent development of rural cultural tourism;
-- improving operation and service quality in rural tourism;
-- regulating the development of new forms of rural tourism;
-- stepping up in the cultivation of rural cultural tourism talent;
-- increasing financial and fiscal support;
-- strengthening land and forest use security; and,
-- implementing these measures effectively.
According to the plan, by the end of 2025, the following goals are planned to be achieved:
-- full coverage of comprehensive cultural service centers in towns and villages at a high standard;
-- 4G/5G network coverage, modern power distribution networks, tap water supply, and two-way road connectivity in all featured rural tourism villages;
-- develop 100 small and medium-sized, themed, and distinctive tourism performance projects;
-- complete more than 200 demonstration projects for cultural relics protection at the provincial level or above;
-- cultivate 5,000 high-level chefs specializing in Hunan cuisine;
-- build 100 nighttime consumption scenarios;
-- introduce 30 internet-famous rural tourism destinations every year; and,
-- develop 100 intangible cultural heritage workshops, towns, and blocks as provincial demonstration sites.
