A cross-Strait exchange event on Chinese culture (calligraphy and painting) was launched at the Hunan Yuandian Art Museum in Changsha on June 6, 2023.
Li Dianxun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province, and Long Mingbiao, executive vice chairperson of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, attended the launching ceremony.
The event was hosted by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the Hunan Federation of Literary and Art Circles. With traditional Chinese culture as the link and art exchange activities as the carrier, it aimed to promote in-depth communication between the cultural and art circles on both sides of the Straits and their joint efforts to carry forward outstanding traditional Chinese culture.
More than 100 paintings created by the artists from both sides of the Straits are displayed at the museum. These works present the stories of the compatriots on both sides of the Straits who share a bond of kinship, and eulogize time-honored Chinese culture. Besides, an online painting exhibition has opened to the public on both sides of the Straits at the same time.
During the event, artists from both sides of the Straits will be organized to take an art tour in Zhangjiajie and participate in exchange activities at the Hunan Art Museum. These activities will lead the Taiwan compatriots to explore Hunan's picturesque natural landscapes, inheritance of the Huxiang culture, and marvelous changes that Hunan has made in economic and social development, and further enhance friendly exchanges between Hunan and Taiwan.
