On the morning of May 25, participants of the "Science and Technology Week" events for state-owned capital and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) of Hunan Province arrived at Hunan Provincial Expressway Network Operation Monitoring and Command Center of Hunan Expressway Group. They came here to experience the digital management of the expressway network.

Tan Feng, director of the Digital Information Center of the Hunan Expressway Group, said that the province currently boasts 7,330 kilometers of expressways, 482 toll stations, and 132 service areas, with millions of vehicles passing through them each day.

In recent years, the Hunan Expressway Group has established an information system consisting of the infrastructure (field equipment), nerves (communication network), and brain (data processing center and algorithms). Based on an above-ground expressway network, an airborne information network, and an underground transmission network, the "Hunan Smart Expressway Visualization System" has been basically completed. It can achieve the visualization, measurement, and control of various aspects such as expressway network's operation, emergency command and dispatch, industry big data analysis, and public travel information services.
