The 2023 Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Investment & Trade Conference Week will be held between May 29 and June 5. It was announced by the Information Office of Hunan Provincial People's Government on May 18, 2023.

The conference week, restarted in Hong Kong after 4 years' suspension, will be Hunan's first major overseas investment and trade event after the epidemic. During the week, "1+2+5+N" activities will be held:

"1" - the provincial leaders' visits and meetings;
"2" - the "Hong Kong and Macao Merchants' Talkfest" and the "Hunan Competitive Industrial Chains Investment Attraction and Science and Technology Innovative Integration and Development Promotion Conference";
"5" - five special activities, including the "Hunan Culture and Tourism GBA Promotion Meeting", "Visiting the Hong Kong Exchange", "Hunan Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Trade Channel Investment Promotion Meeting", "Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Serial Matchmaking Events", and "Media Briefing"; and,
"N" - investment promotions of the provincial, municipal, and county-level authorities and industrial parks and zones.

Relevant provincial departments, cities, prefecture, Xiangjiang New Area, counties, county-level cities and urban districts, industrial parks and zones, Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone, and comprehensive bonded zones, have organized investment promotion staff in groups to GBA since this February. As of May 17, 117 provincial to-be-signed projects have been included in the results statistics, with a total investment of 90.23 billion yuan. The activity will last till this June.

This session will focus on advancing in-depth cooperation between Hunan and GBA in such fields as industrial ecology and science and technology innovation, and promoting Hunan's investment environment, modern petrochemicals and other key industrial chains and the provincial four laboratories and other science and technology innovation platforms. Hunan will showcase its cultural and tourism brand of "Welcome to Charming Hunan" and "five calling cards" as a world tourism destination, to attract more tourists from Hong Kong and Macao to visit Hunan.

After more than 20 years development, the Hunan-GBA Investment & Trade Conference Week has become a brand investment and trade activity of Hunan Province, a calling card of its opening up, and an important platform to comprehensively integrating into and better realizing coordinated development with GBA.
