The 2023 Shimen Huping Mountain Great Canyon Marathon, which will be held on May 28, has opened for applications.

The 25-km-long racing route will pass through the Huping Mountain Eco-tourism Resort. Participants will start from the Hupingshan Town Government building, run through Shenjingzhai, the start and ending point of the Hunan ridge whitewater rafting, and the Huping Mountain Great Canyon, and finally arrive at Beixihe Village, a primitive village where the descendants of ancient Baren Tribe live.

After completing the marathon, the participants may enjoy a long-table banquet at Beixihe Village. The long-table banquet, also known as 100-family banquet, is a unique and ancient folk tradition in China. Dating back to the Northern Song Dynasty, it has a long history of nearly 1,000 years. It is always held to mark important days or events, such as festivals and weddings.

The application will be available until 17:00 on May 18, and may be concluded as it is fully subscribed. The fees for the long-table banquet will be included in the entry fees. The applicants can get information and sign up on the WeChat official account of “石门壶瓶山大峡谷马拉松”.
