The First Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP Economic and Trade Expo was concluded on the afternoon of May 7th, 2023. About 370,000 people visited the exhibition and the on-site turnover exceeded 120 million CNY, with contracted procurement amounting to about 810 million CNY.
Themed "New Cooperation, New Opportunities, and A New Future", the expo invited more than 600 famous enterprises and 1,000 buyers from home and abroad to participate. It hosted a series of activities, including the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the Western Region Assisting RCEP Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, the Third Huaihua Entrepreneurs Conference, and the Optoelectronic Display Industry Development Summit Forum.
One hundred and thirteen projects were signed during the expo, with a total investment of 75 billion CNY. Among them, there were 11 projects worth 14.75 billion CNY invested by the Top 500 enterprises of three categories; 25 ones each worth more than 1 billion CNY, with a total investment of 35.76 billion CNY; and, 19 ones each valued from 500 million CNY to 1 billion CNY, with a total investment of 10.51 billion CNY.

The total exhibition area of the expo was about 20,000 square meters, where six major exhibition areas were set up. They were: the comprehensive image exhibition area, the city/prefecture image exhibition area, the key brand enterprises exhibition area, the cross-border e-commerce exhibition area, the 5+N modernization industry exhibition area, and the characteristic commodities exhibition and sales area. It comprehensively displayed the new achievements and trends in the development of RCEP countries, provinces, autonomous regions, and cities along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the Western Region and 13 cities and one prefecture of Hunan Province.
International elements became the highlight of the expo. Laos, the guest of honor, and other RCEP countries designed their booths with their unique architectures and patterns, adding a strong exotic flavor. A wide range of commodities from different countries also delighted the audience. Several exhibits with international characteristics, such as coffee and nuts from Vietnam, crushed rice and amber from Myanmar, and daily necessities and cosmetics from Korea, were favored by buyers and customers.

The People's Government of Huaihua City, the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, and the Chongqing Port and Logistics Office co-sponsored the expo.
