Wendy Wu Tours, the UK's largest travel agency for group tours to China, sent a delegation to Hunan from April 15th to 17th after being recommended by the China National Tourist Office in London. It was the UK's first tourism delegation to China after the three-year pandemic. This trip played an important role in promoting the resumption and expansion of the overseas tourism market. Shang Bin, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, met with the delegation and warmly welcomed to them. Shang hoped this would be an opportunity for Hunan to expand communication channels, further deepen cultural and tourism cooperation between Hunan and the UK, and attract more overseas tourists to Hunan to experience the unique charm of culture and tourism.

In Zhangjiajie, the delegation members took Bailong Elevator, the world's highest outdoor elevator, to appreciate the breathtaking scenery of the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. They visited Tianmen Mountain for a panoramic view of lush mountains and watched folk performances at the Charming Hunan Theater to have an immersive experience of Hunan culture.
"The scenery of Zhangjiajie is stunning. Today I feel the charm of the Avatar on Earth. It is breathtaking and truly amazing," said Andy Eastham, PR & Communications manager of the Wendy Wu Tours. He was so excited that he kept filming throughout the trip.
"British tourists will be certainly interested in it." Although we only had a short stay in Zhangjiajie, it was very rewarding. Peter Crane, global product director of the Wendy Wu Tours, said, "I really think more people must know Hunan. Hunan deserves it! We will integrate the beauty and culture of Zhangjiajie and launch tailor-made travel products to enable more foreign tourists to understand and fall in love with Hunan.”
