A press conference on the 2023 Chinese Tea Ancestor Festival and the first Chinese Yellow Tea (Pingjiang, Yueyang) Industrial Development Conference was held in Changsha on April 13. It announced that the festival will take place in Pingjiang County, Yueyang City on April 20.
The theme of this conference is "commemorating tea ancestor—Shennong and promoting tea ancestor culture". During the event, the opening ceremony of the Chinese Tea Ancestor Festival, the Chinese Yellow Tea Summit Forum and a seminar on promoting Yueyang Yellow Tea culture, the development of the tea industry and the use of technology in the sector will be held. Field visits will be paid to observe tea-tourism integration routes. A number of national tea industry organizations such as the China Tea Marketing Association, as well as more than 30 key tea enterprises and more than 100 tea brands from Yueyang, Pingjiang, Tongcheng, Xiushui and other places are invited to participate. A tea exhibition area, a tea tasting area and a livestreaming area to promote tea products will be set up in the main venue of the conference to comprehensively display tea culture and tea industry.
The Chinese Tea Ancestor Festival is a cultural brand festival in Hunan to promote tea culture and promote the tea industry. Since 2009, a series of activities have been held annually to honor Chinese tea ancestor. During the 2023 Chinese Tea Ancestor Festival, more than 20 tea events and tea culture series activities will be held in relevant cities, prefecture, counties and districts across the province. After the festival, a large-scale event to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of Mao Zedong and the 15th Hunan Tea Industry Expo will be hosted. Representatives of Hunan's leading tea enterprises and black tea enterprises will be organized to participate in the 5th China International Tea Expo to be held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in Hangzhou, as well as the Hong Kong International Tea Fair, Malaysia Food Exhibition, WorldFood Moscow, tea industry expos in Jinan, Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Shenyang and a series of large-scale tea events.
This year's tea ancestor festival is jointly sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Yueyang Municipal People's Government. It aims to further promote the culture of tea ancestor—Shennong, cultivate and build Hunan tea brands, and promote the high-quality development of Hunan's 100-billion-yuan tea industry.
