With still 20 days to go before the first May Day holiday after China optimized its COVID-19 response, Hunan's tourism market has been thriving.

The top five tourist source cities were Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and Shenzhen. The number of orders received by Changsha during the May Day holiday was among top ten nationwide, 30% higher than the levels seen in 2019. The demand for rooms at internet-famous homestays such as Zhangjiajie, Liuyang, and Changsha branches of No.5 Valley Lodge reached 90%. Travel agencies' outbound tourism business has recovered rapidly.

Hunan has become a tourism preference during the upcoming May Day holiday. Meanwhile, Hunan people yearn for outbound travel.
