A joint conference to promote the collaborative development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industrial chain in Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao and the meeting of the Coordinated Development Alliance of the Whole TCM Industrial Chain in Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao were held in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province on April 9, 2023.
Leung Chun-ying, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and also former chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), attended and delivered a speech.
Mao Wanchun, chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee; Huang Yuejin, deputy director of the Committee on Population, Resources and Environment of the 13th CPPCC National Committee; Huang Luqi, deputy director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE); Xiao Bailing, vice chairwoman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee; Chen Junqing and Xie Ru, vice chairpersons of the CPPCC Jiangxi Provincial Committee; Wang Xuecheng, vice chairman of the CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee; and, Liu Liang, chairman of Coordinated Development Alliance of the Whole TCM Industrial Chain in Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao and CAE academician, were present.
The alliance was founded in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province at the end of 2022. This was its first session.
At the meeting, persons in charge of relevant organizations of the CPPCC committees of Hunan, Jiangxi, and Guangdong provinces and Hong Kong and Macao SARs introduced the development and effectiveness of their respective work. The secretariat of the joint meeting, the secretariat of the Alliance, the TCM Industrialization Cooperation Center, the Medicinal Herbs Cooperation Center, the TCM Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Center, and the TCM Commerce and Trade Cooperation Center reported on their work progress respectively. Heads of TCM administrations in Hunan, Jiangxi, and Guangdong provinces exchanged their ideas.
