A work promotion conference on Changsha's advanced manufacturing industry development and "five-good" Industrial park construction was convened in Changsha recently. A report themed "establishing a modern industrial system, building an advanced manufacturing center, and contributing manufacturing strength to the comprehensive construction of a new modern Changsha" was made at the conference. It has mapped out six major tasks for the future development of the city's manufacturing industry, in a bid to bolster the city's development with the industry. The tasks are: ensuring steady growth of the industrial economy, accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, further promoting the gradient cultivation of enterprises, continuously stimulating the development vitality of the digital economy, accelerating the construction of "five-good" industrial parks, and constantly optimizing the business environment.

Currently it is a crucial period of the first year to fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. The report has also set new targets for the city's industrial development. In 2023, the city's added value of industrial enterprises above designated size will increase by more than 8%, and there will be one new 100-billion-yuan industrial cluster, one new 100-billion-yuan manufacturing enterprise, three new 10-billion-yuan manufacturing enterprises, and 30 newly-cultivated "little giant" firms. The "little giant" firms represent the novel elites of small and medium-sized enterprises that specialize in a niche market, boast cutting-edge technologies, and show great potential.
