Hunan's industrial enterprises over designated size showed a growth trend in terms of major operating indicators in January and February this year, according to the up-to-date data of the Hunan Statistics Bureau. The operating revenue of these enterprises amounted to 613.038 billion CNY, increasing by 3.9% year on year. The total profit hit 33.739 billion CNY, growing by 5.8% with a profit margin of 5.5%. 

Three major sectors were profitable. In January and February, Hunan's mining sector achieved an operating revenue of 11.066 billion CNY, up 3.8% over the previous year, and made a total profit of 817 million CNY, up 4.7%. The operating revenue of manufacturing sector increased by 4% to 559.233 billion CNY, with the total profit growing 5.8% to 31.928 billion CNY. The sectors of production and supply of electricity, thermal power, and water realized an operating revenue of 42.739 billion CNY, rising 2.7%, and made a total profit of 997 million CNY, up 6.4%.

Automobile manufacturing and tobacco sectors made considerable profits. Except for fuel gas production and supply, all other sectors out of Hunan's 39 major industries were profitable and 20 sectors saw year-on-year profit growth. Among the key industries, automobile manufacturing made a 6.6-times increase in profit, driving the industrial profit growth by 6.3 percentage points. Tobacco products sector's profit increased by 15% to 7.548 billion CNY, driving the industrial profit growth by 3.1 percentage points.
