Li Dianxun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Melissa Lan, consul general of the Consulate General of the United States of America in Wuhan, China on March 29, 2023.

Executive Vice Governor Li welcomed Ms. Lan and her entourage. He noted that Hunan has an advantageous geographical location, great market potential, a sound industrial foundation, and rich scientific and educational resources, making it an integral component of China's regional economic landscape. Hunan and the United States share sound exchange and cooperation foundation with profound potential. He expected both sides to work creatively to further pragmatic collaboration in such fields as investment and trade, sci-tech and education, culture and tourism, modern agriculture, and eco-environmental protection, to contribute more to the mutual economic development and improvement of people's livelihood. He warmly welcomed the US enterprises to invest and thrive in Hunan, and invited the US people to travel and explore Hunan.

Consul General Lan thanked Hunan for its positive efforts to boost cooperation between the two sides and looked forward to strengthening partnerships and bearing more fruits with Hunan in the fields of education, general aviation, food security, and addressing climate change.
