On March 28, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, held talks with academicians, experts, and entrepreneur representatives who attended the 2023 Summit Forum on the Development of Power Transmission and Transformation Industry of Hunan Province in Hengyang City.

Mao Weiming extended warm welcome to guests attending the forum and briefed them on the development of the electrical equipment industry. Mao said that Hunan is focusing on cultivating the electrical equipment industry into a "towering tree" of advanced manufacturing, aiming to generate a revenue of 400 billion yuan by 2025. In particular, the revenue of power transmission and transformation industry will reach 300 billion yuan. These efforts will help drive high-quality development and advanced manufacturing agglomeration. Mao hoped that the participant academicians, experts and entrepreneurs will maintain their confidence in Hunan and its development, deepen cooperation in industrial development, innovation collaboration, platform construction and other fields, and work jointly to see Hunan's electrical equipment industry get bigger and stronger.

Luo An, Wang Yaonan, Rao Hong and other guests agreed that Hunan has a foundation, advantages, opportunities and promising prospects in the electrical equipment industry. They would target at high-end, intelligent, and green development of the industry, promote deeper integration of the innovation, industrial, capital, and talent chains, and help Hunan break into a sprint in the industry.
 
Themed "Transmitting Wisdom, Transforming the Future", the forum facilitated the implementation of positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy, boosted high-quality development of the electrical industry, and promoted Hunan's power transmission and transformation industrial cluster to be fostered into a national advanced manufacturing cluster. More than 500 people attended the forum, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, industry experts and scholars, persons in charge of industrial associations from across the country, and enterprise representatives engaging in power transmission and transformation, electric wire, and copper rod wire. A group of key projects related to the power transmission and transformation industry were signed at the forum. There were 20 investment projects in total, with an investment of 35.28 billion yuan.
