The 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) and the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference was held at Beijing Hunan Hotel on the afternoon of March 16. It was learned that the 3rd CAETE will take place in Changsha between June 29 and July 2. Compared with the previous two sessions, the expo this year will innovate and launch more pragmatic measures, focusing on building a "test field" for innovation in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation mechanisms.

With the theme of "Common Development for A Shared Future", the expo will set up a main venue, a main exhibition hall and a sub-exhibition hall at the Changsha International Conference Center, Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center and China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion and Innovation Park (Hunan Gaoqiao Grand Market), respectively. Focusing on the key areas and emerging fields of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, about 30 activities in five categories, including major activities, high-end forums, matchmaking and negotiation, thematic seminars and supporting activities, will be held during the expo.

In terms of high-end forums, the expo will feature six forums led by Chinese ministries and commissions (institutions) for the first time, such as the China-Africa Infrastructure Cooperation Forum hosted by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the China-Africa Countries Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Cooperation Forum hosted by the General Administration of Customs and the China-Africa Healthcare Development Forum hosted by the National Medical Products Administration. These activities will further amplify the influence of the expo.

In addition, a number of trade and investment matchmaking meetings between local provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China and African countries will be held during the expo. At present, Shandong, Hubei, Zhejiang, Xinjiang and other provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China, and six cities and prefecture in Hunan Province have presented their intention of holding special activities. And Changsha, the host city, will hold featured activities such as the China-Africa Cities Cooperation (Changsha) Forum.

In terms of exhibition and display, the main exhibition hall has an exhibition area of about 90,000 square meters, an increase of 27,000 square meters over the previous session. A comprehensive pavilion, an African enterprise and commodity pavilion, a Chinese enterprise and commodity pavilion, a Chinese provincial, regional, and municipal pavilion, and a domestic and foreign trade integration pavilion will be set up to display the achievements of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, the profile of guests of honor, theme provinces, central enterprises, and local provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, African high-quality characteristic products, and China's production capacity, products, and services suitable for African markets. The sub-exhibition hall mainly serves as a permanent exhibition hall of the expo.

In addition, the 3rd CAETE will continue to share experience, release the report on China-Africa economic and trade relations, and release the China-Africa Trade Index for the first time, providing a "barometer" for business entities to carry out economic and trade cooperation with Africa.
